As time goes by and you continue to build readers you can probably think about launching a membership system. With a membership system you can allow users to subscribe to your premium content which you spent a significant amount of time and resources to produce. But there is more to it. Teaser Content
One of the most proven methods that most successful membership sites follow out there. It gives the user a short glimpse of the premium content. That way they can decide if this is something they will be interested in (the full content can only be viewed if the user is logged in and already subscribed to a particular membership).
Content Dripping
If you are selling courses over a specific period of time content dripping can be really useful. Basically a user subscribes for one of your primary membership levels and you can set this level to automatically upgrade to another level and so on. It depends on the full duration of the course. If it’s a 12-weeks course and you have 12 different types of course materials you probably want every level to start on a weekly basis. It allows a member to have access to new content every week.

I have been playing around with WP eMember membership plugin and I have to admit it’s fairly easy to use. Everything is documented well so anyone can set up without any prior knowledge on membership. The price is good (compared to other WordPress membership plugins I have come across) and you do get a lot of powerful features. Additionally you get free support. If you are stuck with something the support staff will be there to help you. So in a word, I’m happy with it.
